Best in Show, Peoples' Choice and Best in Cell Phones and Smart Phones: Palm Pre Smartphone Of the thousands of gadgets on display at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Palm's new smart phone -- that was just announced this week -- swept the top awards, nabbing the No.1 spot in the cell phones and smart phones category of CNET's Best of CES Awards and winning the coveted Best in Show and Peoples' Choice awards. With both a touch-screen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Palm says the phone is for "split personalities." But all kinds of tech personalities salivated over the phone's ability to run multiple applications (e-mail, maps, Web sites, etc.) at the same time and pull information from Outlook, Google and Facebook calendars into one view of the day.
