July 7, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes: Video chatting comes to Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg said Wednesday his company is teaming with Microsoft to provide free Skype video chats for all Facebook users.

Nick Bilton of the New York Times said the new service will be a major player in the video chat wars.

"Microsoft and Facebook are really partnering up," he said. "There's a lot of money invested between the two companies, and it really shows that they're going after Google and they're going after Apple in really what's becoming a race for people to video chat online for free."

Initially, the service will be limited to personal computers but is expected to come to mobile devices as well.

GoAtlantis App

The final space shuttle launch is scheduled for Friday and a new app for the iPhone and iPad will help you spot Atlantis in the night sky.

GoAtlantis tracks the orbits of both the space shuttle and the International Space Station, and tells you when they're overhead. Plus, it's free.
