It took part has been nothing regulations -- -- So even folks do we do not agree on policy are so excited. They recognize that this a great thing. Jaime Herrera Butler with exciting news this week she's becoming the ninth member of congress to have a baby in office. So this Mother's Day our spotlight shines on three of those women senator Kirsten Gillibrand and congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. And Linda Sanchez who Butler reached out to four and. Right. Was she she -- -- -- -- -- made the announcement probably the best piece of advice I give to women who are trained to general firms routinely. Is you really have to learn to be forgiving. Of their own self when you have a lot of balls in the air this is what I tall women inevitably. Wondered -- we're gonna fall and you can't beat yourself up about it. -- -- that I think okay. I have this figured out and then the next day it feels like it's all on apart and that's where it's. It's good to be able to talk with other working moms on Capitol Hill that -- stand. That can relate to you and give -- those words of encouragement. I want parliament and government -- a lot more women members of congress. Because even though we shouldn't have to beat the the bears that these issues we passionately -- because -- -- -- -- to challenge every day while women have made great strides in congress it is still. And has been historically set -- male dominated play so. So what do you see I mean -- very practical sense what is the what are you see dated -- even a male member who has young children as. Typically -- children live with their spouse in their home district during the week so they're not having the mad rush to have to. You finish the vote and get to their child's school to pick up their their son or daughter to school. -- -- -- One thing that I noticed it for the first time. We have a women's bathroom right off of the floor -- first time first time in 200 years -- tick -- some time. And there are still is not -- changing table on that route through which I really could have used you're asked for one yes and so there. You know there are unique challenges of the male members and I think a lot of women and Reynolds say it happen to me to that it was thank you didn't want to talk. Much about being a mom because the men might look -- you was not taking your job seriously has that gone away I. Think there's been a generational shift and I think that. For our members our own generation they're quite comfortable with their wives may work their -- wives -- work at home but. They there's a comfort level for it. Men who -- who are older than past 2030 years we just remind -- of their daughters and they love their daughters -- their lot their daughters are living similar lives. Just a final question for teach you how is. How does it change from where you are on this Mother's Day where your mother's -- -- -- contain my mom wasn't mother to seven children choose to stay at home mom. I think she should be saying -- says -- she went back to night school. Earned her degree and became a teacher and I think largely because of what she did and that. Value she instilled in me and what she taught me I am more -- thing. I have to agree. My mother's lessons there's nothing you can't -- -- put your mind to it really informed my whole life. -- my mom was among the few in her generation to actually work and her mother works so. I just had this long legacy of moms who worked outside the home. And so I never considered anything out what -- accomplished and frankly -- all the women who come before us have accomplished makes everything that we do possible my mom. I don't think can really sometimes. Really imagine that I am serving in congress my mom had dropped out of college. Her freshman year -- from her dad passed away in. She was determined that her kids were going to go to college graduate from college in. And she sacrificed her entire life to give me that opportunity and she told me Kathy you can be any anything you want to be she's. Made me a person that I am today. Our thanks to all three on this Mother's Day and now we honor our fellow Americans who served. And sacrifice. This week the Pentagon released the names of ten service members killed in Afghanistan in Kyrgyzstan. That's all for us today thanks for sharing part of your Sunday with us check out world news with David Muir tonight and to all the moms out there. Happy Mother's Day.
