The 10 Most Expensive City Hotels in the US
The first 7 are in one city.
— -- The Big Apple -- if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. That’s especially true if you’re able to shell out the prices that New York’s top hotels command.
A report from Luxury-Hotels.com has named the most expensive city hotels in the nation. And numbers 1 through 7 are all in New York.
Prices for a double (that’s code for standard in hotel speak) were close to $1,000 per night in October, according to the report. The site analyzed prices for October stays at luxury hotels in the U.S. in cities with a population of 500,000 or more. They then found the cheapest available rate for a double room, excluding one-night stays and Sundays and Mondays. (Note: one-night stays tend to be more expensive than multi-night stays and Sundays and Mondays tend to be far cheaper than other nights of the week).
There was a tie for the most expensive hotel in the nation: the Mandarin Oriental and the Ritz-Carlton Central Park came in at $995 per night.
