— -- Green travel has been chic for quite some time, but the travel industry is stepping up its efforts a notch with Earth Hour. On Saturday, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., hotels, restaurants, famous landmarks and entire cities will voluntarily shut off power to raise awareness for action on climate change.

Most notably, the Eiffel Tower, London Eye and Sydney Opera House will go dark as a means to demand action on climate change. Some of the world's largest cities Hong Kong, Chicago and Buenos Aires will be turning the lights off. Hotels including Hilton, Fairmont, Intercontinental Radisson and Sheraton will be upping their green ante as well by turning off lights, computers and air conditioning, doing less laundry and washing clothes on the coldest setting.
