Teddy Goalsevelt Returns Home After USA Eliminated from World Cup

His girlfriend surprised him at the airport.

— -- Teddy Goalsevelt is back on U.S. soil.

Goalsevelt, or Mike D’Amico, returned home from Brazil today, three days after the U.S. men's national team was defeated by Belgium and eliminated from the World Cup.

D’Amico, 31, became an Internet sensation after a shot of him in a homemade Teddy Roosevelt costume was captured by ESPN during the U.S. match against Portugal.

The soccer super fan's girlfriend, Jess Hanebury, surprised him at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. As D’Amico came down the escalator, Hanebury held up a sign that read “Goalsevelt." The two embraced and shared a kiss.
