Why Cleveland's Having the Best Year Ever
Lebron James is icing on the cake for Clevelanders.
July 11, 2014— -- Cleveland residents have been preaching it for a while: this city's on the rise.
So it's no surprise to them that Cleveland is, by all measures, having an awesome year in 2014.
Lebron's Headed Home
Just today, Akron's most famous dribbling son LeBron James made the announcement that he was "coming home" to the city where he got his start in the NBA. James resigned with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Johnny's Coming for the Football
When he arrives, James will join another superstar athlete who chose Cleveland this year: Johnny Manziel. The quarterback known as "Johnny Football" as an undergraduate will make his debut this fall playing for the Cleveland Browns.
The Republicans Want In, Too
Politicians are showing Cleveland love, too. The Republican National Convention announced earlier this week that it would hold its 2016 convention in the city, at the same arena where LeBron will lead the Cavs.
The Hall of Fame's Got the Music
Cleveland is returning the love to this year's 2014 Hall of Fame inductees, including Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Hall and Oates, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, and Kiss.
If you're still not convinced, check out the city's proud hashtag, #ThisIsCle, that they use to spread the word about cool things going on in Ohio's second largest - and definitely buzziest- city.
