The escape trick reportedly went wrong during a rehearsal for Angel's show.
— -- World-famous magician Criss Angel came to the rescue of an escape artist trapped inside a tank of water suspended 30 feet in the air.
The illusionist trapped inside the tank, Spencer Horsman, was rehearsing a stunt Wednesday for Angel’s new magic show, “The SUPERNATURALISTS.”
Horsman, who rose to fame on the reality TV show “America’s Got Talent,” can be seen in video of the accident lying face down and motionless inside the locked tank.
Angel, one of the world’s most successful magicians, leaped into action to save Horsman, jumping on top of the tank to help pry it open as the tank was lowered down to the stage.
Horsman was rescued in time and survived the ordeal.
The premiere of "The SUPERNATURALISTS" was pushed back one night after the accident. It is now schedule to premiere tonight for a four-week run at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut.
The show, according to Foxwood's website, features, "9 mind-blowing magicians that destroy reality and revolutionize the live magic ensemble experience."
