The jackpot in Saturday's Powerball drawing is now $800 million.
The potential winnings continue to increase as more millionaire-hopefuls buy tickets.
The winner can choose to spread the jackpot over 29 years or receive the winnings in one cash payout of $496 million (before taxes).
Saturday's drawing is the largest jackpot in lotto history.
"All eyes are on Saturday’s game," Tracey Cohen, interim executive director of the DC Lottery, said in a press release on Thursday. "It's historic. It's exciting."
