Woman Wanted in Dentist Murder-For-Hire Plot Arrested in Mexico
Dr. Kendra Hatcher was killed last year.
— -- A woman wanted in the alleged murder-for-hire plot against a prominent Texas dentist was arrested in Mexico, Mexican authorities said Friday night.
Brenda Delgado was located in the city of Torreon, in the state of Coahuila, after she was placed on the FBI's most wanted list, the Mexican Attorney General's Office said.
Mexican authorities said she will be held in Mexico City until she can be transferred to the United States.
The FBI described Delgado, a Mexican national, as a "master manipulator."
The victim, Dr. Kendra Hatcher, was killed in the parking garage of her home in Dallas on Sept. 2, 2015, the FBI said.
Delgado, who was studying to be a dental hygienist, allegedly hired two people to kill her "because the victim was dating her ex-boyfriend," Special Agent Jason Ibrahim said in a statement.
"Brenda Delgado was able to effectively manipulate everyone she involved in her calculated scheme," Special Agent-in-charge Thomas Class said.
Delgado, who was charged with capital murder, allegedly fled the country shortly after speaking to investigators. A federal fugitive warrant was issued in October 2015.
Two alleged co-conspirators are in custody and have been charged.
