All right, the excitement is beginning. The new season of "Dancing with the stars" kicked off last night. The show is packed with the high energy of opening night. And we got a chance to see the new dancers and some of their news. ABC's Lana Zach is in L.A. Reporter: Beginning with a steamy sexy start that had even the judges dancing. Shaking up the show, a new band and new cohost. Season ten finalist, Erin Andrews, with a shoutout to her partner. Hey, Maks. And a partner switch in James three. Which may be good for James and Petta. They dated before being partners. From drew Carey on the money. To Billy Dee Williams. You are like a beacon of light in this world. Cadace Cameron Bure wowed in the contemporary. I'm telling you this, you're good on wood. At the top of the leader board, Merrill's olympic skating partner, Charlie white. 9. 9. 9. And for all the victors, of course, there has to be people at the other end of the spectrum. That distinction went to Billy Dee Williams and Diana nyad, at the bottom of the leader board. But with all of the changes in season 18, it is anyone's guest what can happen next. Lana Zach, ABC news, los Angeles. That is right. And the judges were not a very big fan of Diana nyad's performance. But she had such a great sense of humor about it. She said, yeah, I'm not wearing my slippers. She is just used to having her slippers on. I'm excited about this season. It started off great. Good things to come. Things to jazz it up. Dancers have to change partners at least one time. They will have to dance with a different partner. As long as they don't split up. Absolutely. Positively. They are mixing it up. Different theme night. And guest judges, almost every week, I think starting in April. Coming up, sound of music. Baby that knows a good guitar
