Operation, home makeover. We had to think of an elaborate plan to get Erich out of his house and then to stay out of his house for a few days. Reporter: They asked him to help with a weekend charity event, telling him he'd have to go on a short road trip. We sent him to Chicago for the weekend. He's gone. Reporter: Those colts, a different team now. Remodelling the house, bringing in new furniture. A new TV for those colts games. Looking out for his daughters. A new place for their homework. And dad too, with his new man cave. On this wall we're going to have his actual army shirt feramed alongside Coby and pat Jerseys signed. Reporter: After three days, Erich the veteran comes home. Those two colts waiting. Erich, you handsome devil. Because you're such a wonderful man, and because you help out so many good people, Coby and I decided that it was your turn to receive. Reporter: They take him in. And he sees it all. A smile. Nodding his head. I'm completely spellbound. It's amazing. My life has been focused on helping other people. Reporter: Nearly speechless.
