Fonlly tonight, the american music awards come your way shortly. After honoring so many music stars, tonight, they thank someone else. 40 years ago, dick clark had an idea. The american music awards would honor the biggest stars in music, based on who people were listening to. Not their peers choosing, but the public. Those early names you remember. Village people. Donna summer. Kenny rogers. Cyndi lauper. Reporter: Awards for the stars receiving the most music. The stars who the fans were choosing on the radio. Far out!
