With projections made in most states across the country, ABC has projected that former President Donald Trump will win the high-stakes presidential match-up against Vice President Kamala Harris. Early Wednesday morning, Trump secured enough Electoral College votes to set himself up for a second presidency, including by flipping the key swing states of Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Plus, Republicans are set up to take back the Senate majority, with at least 51 seats locked down — while control of the House remained up in the air.

Throughout the evening and into Wednesday morning, reporters from 538 followed along every step of the way with live updates, analysis and commentary on these races and all the others down the ballot. Follow our live election-night coverage in full below.

Democrats retain Michigan's 8th District

ABC News projects that Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet has defeated Republican Paul Junge in Michigan's 8th District. Located around Flint, Trump did better in that part of the state than previously, but Democrats managed to retain this open seat held by retiring Democratic Rep. Dan Kildee.

Harris win's Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District

ABC News projects that Harris will win the electoral vote from Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District. Trump had already picked up the Cornhusker State's two statewide electoral votes, as well as the electoral votes from the state's other two congressional districts.

New Jersey projected for Harris

It wasn't quite as suspenseful as some other states, but we were still waiting for a projection from New Jersey until just now. Unsurprisingly, Harris has won the state's 14 electoral votes.

Three more House projections

ABC News has made three more projections in the battle for the House.

-In Ohio's 13th District, Democratic Rep. Emilia Sykes has won reelection. We had this district rated Likely Democratic, but it's currently just a 2-point race.

-Republican Tom Barrett has won Michigan's 7th District. That's big for Republicans because this is currently a Democratic-held seat.

-Republican Rep. Mike Lawler has won reelection in New York's 17th District. Biden won this district handily in 2020, but Lawler proved a strong incumbent.
