Here Are Some YouTube Comedy Week Videos You Will Love

PHOTO: Comedy, you guys!

Guys, we've officially entered YouTube's Comedy Week, which is a whole week of people being funny at you on YouTube. Here is a video about it featuring various people who will or won't make you laugh, including Sarah Silverman, (Yup!), Jenna Marbles, Daily Grace's Grace Helbig, the Sklar Brothers, and more. So much more! Four minutes and twenty-eight seconds' worth of more!

A whole week of comedy can be a lot to take, so let's try to break this down in a somewhat organized fashion. This list is by no means a MANDATE or some sort of treatise about what is funny and what is not. These are just some little recommendations to help you wade through the many, many channels, comedy groups, and individual comedians participating in Comedy Week.

So. Let's dive into this:

Reg Rolled

This video of Reggie Watts, because 1. Reggie Watts, 2. Jordan Peele, 3. Reggie Watts and Jordan Peele. This is also an opportunity for me to pitch networks my idea for a spin-off of Flight of the Conchords starring Reggie Watts as Bret and Jemaine's musical protégé/third roommate, with Reggie writing and performing at least one new song every episode.

Honorable mention: This music video by Sarah Silverman and (Yuuuuup!), 100 percent because of the refrigerator scene. Both Watts and Silverman (but not Mr. are members of the funny video collective JASH, along with Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker, and Eric Wareheim. All funny people. Unless you don't think so.

Miles Jai is participating in YouTube's Comedy Week, and you would do well to keep him on your radar. Here's a video of him showing us 40 expressions, including one for the greatest love of all, macaroni and cheese. I first found out about Miles Jai when Willam (formerly of RuPaul's Drag Race) and the lovely Courtney Act gave him a transfashionable makeover.

Honorable mention: Willam's Beatdown. This online show is mean and you will love it because you are mean, too. Willam rots my soul, but he makes me laugh. So.

PHOTO: Pitbull, kind of.
Anything Having to Do with Pitbull, Ever

This skit, by BarelyPolitical, involves an impression of Pitbull.

Honorable mention: This music video, featuring Pitbull.

Anything Natalie Tran Ever Does

You can spot Natalie Tran in Comedy Week's intro video. I don't see her YouTube channel, "community channel," listed among the channels participating in Comedy Week, which is disconcerting. But maybe I'm just kind of tired and unfocused because my eyes have been staring at a computer screen every single day for the past 14 years or so. Nonetheless, I'm including Natalie on this list because she is very, very, very funny and always starts her videos by saying "Hi!" the same exact way each time and I get a real kick out of that. Do check her out; I think you'll enjoy her videos very much.

Comments To Avoid

All of them.

But mostly the ones saying "not funny," because come on. That's totally subjective! I didn't find a good two thirds of the people involved in the intro video remotely funny, but that doesn't mean they don't have their own loyal following of people who disagree with me.

Also "Where's [insert name of semi-obscure YouTube comedian]????????????" Every single time a list is made of any group of people within any sort of industry, there's always the angry mob demanding to know why their favorite comedian/millennial fire breathing cute animal tattoo artist/hot woman in tech/hot man in tech/hot toddler in tech/mom who does it all/porn star is not included.

Oh, and also puns using "week" and "weak." Avoid those most of all.

That said, let us know which comedians you're looking forward to watching this week, and which you think should have been included.
