— -- intro: Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is rich. But how rich exactly? So rich that the Brazilian air force (FAB) has granted his request to charter four jets to the World Cup for his friends and family. Members of his entourage will also include his supermodel Russian girlfriend Irina Shayk.

He's so rich that his net worth is nearly one-quarter of the combined fortunes of the 10 wealthiest players in this year's FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo, who plays for the Spanish club Real Madrid, has a net worth of $230 million, according to a list of the richest players in this year's World Cup produced by research firm Wealth-X.

A large chunk of Ronaldo's personal fortune comes from endorsement deals, with Nike, Samsung, watchmaker Tag Heuer and his underwear line CR7. Forbes estimates that his salary and winnings were a combined $52 million in the last year, while his endorsement deals earned him $28 million. According to Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes, Ronaldo is behind only Floyd Mayweather's $105 million.

The 29-year old is the "best-known player on the planet," alongside Argentine Lionel Messi and Brit David Beckham, according to ESPN.

Ronaldo seems to enjoy the finer things in life. He has been seen driving a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, which can cost $387,000, according to Edmunds.com. Last year, Ronaldo listed his modern villa in Spain for $7.1 million.
