June 16, 2011— -- ABC News President Ben Sherwood sent the following email to staff:

I am writing with news about our colleague Andrew Morse.

After 15 years at ABC News, Andrew Morse is heading to the East Side to take on a new challenge at Bloomberg as Head of US Television Operations.

As many of you know, Andrew began his career at ABC News in 1996 as a Desk Assistant in the Washington Bureau and then became one of the original staffers of ABCNews.com.

From there, Andrew left for the London Bureau, where he began an eight-year overseas odyssey, as an assignment editor, producer and bureau chief. In 2005, Andrew returned to the US to work as a senior producer for the early morning news programs and Weekend World News. He soon became Executive Producer of Good Morning America Weekend.

Andrew spearheaded the first media partnership with Facebook before the 2008 presidential elections, launched "The Quick Fix" and officially returned to the digital space last year as Executive Producer for Innovation and Integration.

Andrew also played an important role in the development and launch of the ABC News iPad application and ABC News' enhanced video books. From his perch in the digital world, Andrew also remained deeply involved on the broadcast side, coordinating the network's coverage on the ground for the earthquake in Haiti.

Over the last six months, I have called on Andrew repeatedly to help lead our ground campaigns on key stories from the revolution in Egypt to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan to the Royal Wedding.

On a more personal note, I consider Andrew to be a good friend and someday look forward to the pleasure of reading one of his four novels in-progress.

For now, please join me in thanking Andrew for his many contributions to ABC and wishing him the very best.
