Consumers Can Click and Complain Online

Aug. 27 -- Hell hath no fury like a paying customer scorned.

Whether because of a declining level in customer service or the ease of publishing on the Internet, hundreds if not thousands of dissatisfied customers have taken their complaints public, giving birth to a new form: the corporate complaint Web site.

Not surprisingly, airlines and telephone companies inspire the most concentrated consumer wrath, but even seemingly milquetoast retailers like RadioShack and Home Depot have sites devoted to detailing their every blunder.

So in the spirit of rewarding emotion well expressed and giving the disgruntled consumer his due we spent a few hot weeks this summer trolling the Web for the best complaint sites. We looked at dozens of sites and rated each of them between 1 (worst) and 5 (best) on six criteria: ease of use, frequency updated, number of posts, anger level, relevancy and entertainment value.

Below are the five sites that scored the best, based on our formula.
