2012 Couples: Will They Stay Together or Split?

Dec. 28, 2012 — -- intro: This year brought together some new celebrity couples and reunited a few old ones. But in Hollywood, where divorces often take longer than the marriage, the odds of a relationship enduring are often lower than your average red carpet hemline.

Click through to see six star couples who recently got together or have been off and on for the latter part of 2012 -- and what 2013 might bring for them.

In November, Brown told Power 106 radio host Big Boy that he and Rihanna are "working on their friendship," adding, "As far as our personal life, I think people just got to give it a chance -- or not even give it a chance, but shut the hell up. It's me. At the end of the day, whatever opinion they have ain't going to change nothing I'm doing."

Rihanna seemed to have adopted a similar attitude. She brushed off the "obsession" about her and Brown in a recent interview with Vogue, saying, "The world hasn't let go."

But it seems they are the ones who haven't let go. They looked lovey-dovey at a Christmas Day Lakers game, and RiRi's taken to referring to Brown as "baby" on Instagram. Like moths to flame, they may be unable to resist each other, but they both stand a good chance at getting burned.

According to Us Weekly, the couple huddled close during a ski vacation there the weekend before Christmas. Their jaunt came a few days after the "Red" singer and One Direction frontman were spotted at a Los Angeles tattoo parlor, where Swift watched Styles get a ship (a relationship?) tattooed on his arm. And they spent the month of December cozying up across continents, holding hands in Manhattan and feeding pigeons in London.

But given Swift's track record, it's doubtful their romance will last well into 2013. Many of Swift's high-profile relationships -- her exes include Conor Kennedy, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer and Joe Jonas -- ended after three months.

What you can expect if she and Styles split is a song about their time together, a la "Dear John," and, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

Gomez seemed less than amused by Bieber hanging out with lingerie model Barbara Palvin, even though Palvin tweeted, "hey everyone. please calm down. he is all yours!! :) please :)" (After all, all she and the Biebs did was see "The Lion King" on Broadway.)

But in early December, Bieber and Gomez were photographed holding hands backstage a concert and, over the weekend, they were spotted kissing at the Salt Lake City airport after reportedly vacationing with Swift and Styles. Looks like the slopes may have heated up more than one relationship.

Mayer has famously played the field, managing to date an impressive array of Hollywood's pretty, young things, from Jessica Simpson to Jennifer Aniston. But at 35, he could be ready to settle down.

Though she has spent less time on the dating scene, Perry, 28, was married for about a year to comedian Russell Brand, and may be clearer on what she's looking for in a long-term partner. A good sign of their future together: They've introduced each other to their parents.

In September, after her ex accused her of "fornicating with the help" by having an affair with Kristen before their divorce was final, Klum told Katie Couric that she "never looked at another man" during their seven years of marriage.

"He's moved on, and so have I," she added.

Though Kristen appears to have seamlessly fit into Klum and her four children's lives -- she told German magazine Bunte last month, "They like him very much. This is also one reason why I'm so fond of him. He's been helping me for four years now." -- rebounds don't typically last and the employer-employee nature of their relationship further stacks the deck against them.
