However, the "Modern Family" star explained that his absence was her decision.

"He's really hot, that's why I didn't bring him. He's too hot, he's too tall, he takes up a lot of space," she told E! News during the Emmys pre-show. "He's too sexy!"

Vergara, 42, and Manganiello, 37, were first linked earlier this summer, but the actress shared that they've actually been going out for about two and a half months.

"We're having a lot of fun," she said. "He's a really funny guy, which is something that's really important to me, and a really nice guy."

And complimentary too. A few weeks ago, the actor gushed about meeting his girlfriend in May, at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. It was there he was photographed checking out her backside.
