Allison Williams Was 'Completely Surprised' By Her Boyfriend's Proposal

March 5, 2014 -- Allison Williams recently got engaged to her boyfriend Ricky Van Veen -- and she was caught completely off-guard.

"I was completely surprised," the "Girls" star told Seth Meyers on his late night show. "The best kind of surprise. We're really, really thrilled."

Williams, 25, added that she was especially impressed with Van Veen's proposal because she considers herself to be "someone impossible to surprise."

"I walk around the world poised and ready for a surprise," she explained. "That could definitely mean that I'm in constant state of disappointment, but instead it means that I live life one potential surprise to the next."

She also showed off her diamond engagement ring to Meyers, with whom she's close friends.

"I'm obsessed with it," she said of the bauble. "I stare at it a lot."
