April 30, 2014 — -- George Clooney waited this long, he might as well pick a ring as stunning as the one he got for Amal Alamuddin, 36.
People magazine posted a picture of the square rock (fully the width of Amal's finger) with a gold band from Clooney's outing on Sunday with best bud Rande Gerber.
Alamuddin showed off the bling days after the actor popped the question.
Clooney, 52, heretofore one of the most eligible bachelor's in the world, has yet to comment publicly about his engagement, but he can just let the ring do the talking.
People reports that Clooney helped design the ring, featuring an emerald-cut diamond estimated at 7-plus carats and two tapered baguettes set in platinum.
The magazine adds Clooney went the old-fashioned route, meeting the family first in March, then getting down on one knee on April 22, asking Alamuddin to marry him.
