April 1, 2011 — -- The "American Idol" dreams of two contestants ended Thursday night.

Dance instructor Naima Adedapo and 16-year-old Thia Megia were ousted after they received the least number of votes following Wednesday's Elton John song theme night.

Adedapo's reggae version of "I'm Still Standing" and Megia's "Daniel" wasn't enough to save the aspiring singers from the double elimination.

But for others on the show, "Idol" still has plenty to offer, and not just in terms of a singing career -- some are finding love on the show's set.

"Trust me, there's been hookups," Simon Cowell insisted in 2004. "They don't talk about it, but it happens. Of course it happens. What do you think? We've got 12 kids living in the same house. Come on."

This year, finalists Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart, both 20, are said to be having an off-screen romance, according to In Touch magazine and other reports.

"Most of their downtime is spent together and they have a very touchy-feely relationship," an "Idol" insider told In Touch. "They're always lying on each other when they're around the other contestants and everybody thinks they're hooking up."

Abrams could use some TLC. He suffers from ulcerative colitis and missed an "Idol" show after being taken to the hospital for a blood transfusion. Last week, he seemed on the verge of breaking down after judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson saved him from elimination.

Abrams and Reinhart aren't the only "Idol" hopefuls said to have become close while competing on the show. Take a look at other rumored romances from past seasons:

"I think a relationship right now will be pretty hard," DeWyze said last July. "That kind of stuff takes a lot of time and patience, and I know right now I just don't think it'd be fair to anybody. When I meet the right girl I'll definitely have no hesitations to a relationship."

Anoop Desai and Megan Joy Corkrey

Season eight finalists Anoop Desai and Megan Joy Corkrey were spotted at a couple of intimate dinners after the competition ended.

In May 2009, the New York Daily News reported that the two were "getting cozy" during dinner at a Burbank, Calif., Outback Steakhouse. They were reportedly joined by Adam Lambert, who was there with a man he called "his boyfriend."

A couple months later, Desai and Corkrey were seen exiting a restaurant arm-in-arm, but both have denied rumors of a relationship.

David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell

Season seven champion David Cook began dating season two contestant Kimberly Caldwell soon after he was crowned winner.

Cook first asked Caldwell on a date on the red carpet before the seventh season finale in May 2008. After taking her to Ruth's Chris steakhouse, he told ABC News Radio, "She's great, and I look forward to seeing her again."

"We got a chance to talk a little bit about the whole experience, and it's nice to get a fresh perspective," Cook said. "For me, all this is new."

After they became an item, Cook told People, "I think [Kimberly] just gets that this is all nuts... she's a nice break from the chaos."

In January 2009, the couple announced their breakup.

Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis

Season six champ Jordin Sparks and runner-up Blake Lewis had tongues wagging with their frequent public displays of affection.

On MTV's "TRL" they puckered up before the cameras in May 2007. A month later, TMZ spotted them holding hands in a Fry's Electronics store near Los Angeles.

But Sparks set the record straight in her interview with Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo on New York's Z100 radio.

"It makes me laugh," she said in August 2007. "We went through this whole experience and it's like I can't even look at him that way."
