May 27, 2014 -- The “Bachelorette,” star Andi Dorfman, had her first dates of the season -- including a one-on-one outing with the late Eric Hill -- on Monday night's episode of the ABC series.

Eric was the first contestant to receive an invitation for a date with Andi. She explained to the cameras that she was drawn to his explorer background and his willingness to embrace other cultures.

They traveled to a beach in southern California where they were picked up by a helicopter and whisked away to snow-capped mountains. There, they were given a snowboarding lesson by pro snowboarder Louie Vito.

Afterward, Eric explained how starting a family means more to him than his stated goal of visiting every country in the world. Andi gave him a rose.

Andi's other one-on-one date was with Chris, a 32-year-old farmer from Iowa. They watched horse racing at the famed Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif. After he too received a rose, they were treated to a private performance by the band This Wild Life, during which they kissed several times.

For the group date, 14 men were taken to a Hollywood nightclub, where they were asked to strip in front of a live audience for charity. But the real fun began after that, when Craig got drunk at the mansion, turning off Andi in the process. Marcus, a 25-year-old sports medicine manager from Dallas, earned the group date rose.

At the cocktail party, Craig tried to make amends with Andi by playing an apologetic song on the guitar. It was too little, too late, though -- he was sent home during the rose ceremony, as were Carl and Nick S. Sixteen men remain in the competition.

Next week, ABC will air "Bachelorette" episodes on two consecutive nights, beginning Sunday. Boyz II Men will make an appearance.
