Billboard Music Awards 2016: The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Drake Among Top Finalists

— -- The finalists for the Billboard Music Awards 2016 were announced on "Good Morning America" on Monday, and the Weeknd leads the pack with 16 nods, followed by Justin Bieber, Drake and Fetty Wap.
Ludacris and Ciara announced six finalists live on "GMA" -– in the Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Female Artist, Top New Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Hot 100 Song categories. Finalists in the remaining categories were announced online, including in a live stream on GoodMorningAmerica.com.
The Weeknd, known for hits including "Can't Feel My Face" and "Earned It," was a finalist in 16 categories, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top 100 Song.
Bieber followed in the second highest number of categories -- 11 – including in Top Artist and Top Male Artist, while Fetty Wap and Drake were tied with nods in 10 categories each, including Top Male Artist.
Other finalists include Adele and Taylor Swift, who are contenders in eight categories, and Sam Hunt, who is a finalist in three categories -– the most of any country music artist for this year.
Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music -- including album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social engagement.
The awards will be broadcast on May 22nd at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
