Singer-songwriter Brandy Norwood and her brother, singer-songwriter and actor Ray J, hosted a holiday concert and party this week featuring performances from artists on “A Classic Holiday” album, a compilation of classic favorite holiday songs from Tyrese, Alicia Keys and Brandy among others.
Brandy’s song, “One Voice,” off of her “Never Say Never” album, is featured on the holiday compilation.
“‘One Voice’ is an inspirational song and it’s the holiday season and I just thought it was a great song for people to listen to and enjoy,” she told ABC News.
2016 will ring in a new chapter for the singer and former “Moesha” star when her new BET sitcom, “Zoe Ever After,” premieres on Jan. 5.
“I have another sitcom 20 years later after ‘Moesha,’ that’s a huge accomplishment for me,” she said, adding she’s excited for the new show.
ABC News caught up with the Grammy-Award winner at the holiday music showcase, presented by MBK entertainment’s producer Jeff Robinson, at B.B. Kings in New York City.
“I’m in the holiday spirit!” Brandy said to the cheering crowd.
Backstage at the showcase, all of the artists were buzzing with holiday cheer and laughter echoed through the halls.
“It’s a lot of fun it feels like a family reunion backstage,” Bridget Kelly, one of the artists on “A Classic Holiday Album” said.
“We’re all personal friends, it’s like karaoke,” singer-songwriter and “Power” actor Rotimi added.
