The pop star confirmed Tuesday night on Twitter that she is gearing up for her ninth studio album, posting a photo of her and two friends sitting on a couch making funny faces.
"Working hard and hardly working...new album...wheeeee!" the caption reads.
Spears hinted earlier this week at the possibility of a new album after tweeting about recording a new song along with the hashtag #B9.
"JUST finished recording some vox," Spears wrote. "LOVE this song. It makes ME smile, and I hope it will make you smile too."
Spears, 33, is in the middle of her Piece of Me residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, which, she announced in September, has been extended two more years.
