TV personality, author and designer Lauren Conrad appeared on “Good Morning America” today to discuss LC Lauren Conrad Runway, her new Kohl’s capsule line collection, and she shared some of her makeup tips for the looks she’ll be highlighting at a special show kick-starting New York Fashion Week, which will have a shoppable livestream.
“It’s going to be amazing,” Conrad said on “GMA.” “Everyone can tune in and get front-row seats to the runway show, and it also includes backstage so hopefully things go smoothly. And then immediately it’s shoppable, which is really exciting.”
Conrad says her new Runway collection is “a fun way to make a splash,” adding that “It’s an elevated version of the line.”
The line will be available immediately following her fashion show Wednesday.
The Makeup Looks
1. The glitter or sparkly eye.
“On the runway you see a lot of sequined eyes and very dramatic eyes that aren’t really wearable at home,” Conrad’s makeup artist, Amy Nadine, explained. “So a way that we’ve translated that is with a good sparkle eye. You use a nice glitter shadow, and you’re just going to stamp it like this. It’s very wearable but still makes a big statement and is very pretty. You can wear it during the day but it’s more for a party at night.”
2. The feathered brow.
“There’s a lot of bold stenciled brows on the runway where they’re almost drawn-in or stenciled in,” Nadine said. “So we’re translating that where the pendulum is swinging a little bit away to a feathered brow. The tip to doing that is not to fill in the part closest to your nose, just brush that portion forward and up. Start the filling-in towards the middle of the brow with little brush strokes at a time, and work on the arch as you go over towards the outside. It’s still thick, but it’s defined and not overkill. It’s kind of like a throwback to the seventies, it’s just feathered and very pretty.”
3. The dark lip.
“A lot of us, if our lips are on the thinner side, we feel like a dark lip makes our lips look smaller,” she explained. “So the key is to that is to highlight the perimeter first. Take a highlighter and go around the perimeter. And the light pulls something forward, like you learn in art class. Then when you do the bright lip, it looks like they’re fuller. It creates an illusion.”
