— -- The Las Vegas strip was electrified more than usual Saturday night, as thousands packed The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for Celine Dion’s 1,000th performance.

The milestone show coincides with Caesars Palace's 50th anniversary.

A statement posted on Celine Dion's Instagram account, read, "On March 25th, 2003, Celine performed her first of many concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Tonight, we are proud to celebrate her #1000th performance over 13 years!”

Dion kicked off her first Las Vegas residency, "A New Day...," on March 25, 2003, and it ended on December 15, 2007.

She then took a three-year hiatus, during which she recorded new music and went on the Taking Chances World Tour.

Dion returned to Las Vegas on March 15, 2011 with her new show, "Celine." It recently extended performances until June 2017.

Her 1,000th show included both new music and classic hits, including "I Surrender," "All By Myself," "Because You Loved Me, "an acoustic medley of "A New Day Has Come," “That’s the Way it Is”, and “I’m Alive.”

Before her encore, Dion performed a cover to Queen’s “The Show Must Go On”, concluding with a balloon drop and confetti explosion into the crowd.
