Cindy Crawford Wants to 'Move On' From Modeling
The former supermodel said she's ready to "not say goodbye, but move on."
— -- Cindy Crawford revealed that she's retiring from posing in front of the lens after her decades-long modeling career.
"I'm sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore," she told United Airlines' Rhapsody Magazine.
"And that's OK. I've done it. I've worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."
The model, who turns 50 later this month, said writing her autobiography, "Becoming," helped her say goodbye to modeling.
"Or maybe not say goodbye, but move on," she later clarified. "I had no idea that the book would be part of the journey."
Crawford said she's happy to help her 14-year-old daughter, Kaia, in her modeling career. She also has a 16-year-old son, Presley, with husband Rande Gerber.
"Kaia would be modeling even if she weren't modeling. All the girls are modeling," she said in the magazine. "They are all taking pictures of themselves, or having their friends take pictures for their social media... They are not dependent only on how a photographer sees them. They have a direct relationship with their fans."
