Comedian Artie Lange Hospitalized for 'Diabetic Shock'

April 16, 2014 — -- Miley Cyrus isn't the only celebrity in the hospital.
Comedian Artie Lange tweeted a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed with the caption, "In the hospital outside of Detroit after going into diabetic shock. Trying to get better. Sorry for missing gigs."
A second tweet on Tuesday showed his road manager and Lange said he was helping to take care of the comedian.
Lange has been touring the United States with his stand-up show.

Lange spoke with ABC last year about his autobiography "Crash and Burn," where he documents his past troubles, hitting rock bottom in 2010 when he tried to commit suicide.
"It's honest," he said of past dark times in his life. "I became addicted to heroin. Ninety percent of the people get taken out just from that alone. If it weren't for the fact that I had amazing people around me -- my family and friends -- I would never have come back from it."
He talked about his second chance at life and not taking anything for granted.
