Aug. 31, 2010— -- New "Dancing With the Stars" cast member Bristol Palin said she wants to "leave the drama behind" and enjoy herself on the show.

"I was excited to jump on board and be a part of something that's fun ... be in a whole new environment," Palin, 19, told Robin Roberts today on "Good Morning America," appearing with her dance partner, professional Mark Ballas.

The "Dancing With the Stars" season 11 cast was announced Monday during "The Bachelor Pad" on ABC. The 12 celebrities include David Hasselhoff, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from "The Jersey Shore," Florence Henderson and Jennifer Grey.

Palin has been in the spotlight since her mother Sarah Palin's vice-presidential run. The mother of a 20-month old son, Tripp, with ex Levi Johnston, Palin said, "I'm really looking forward to getting outside of that box.

"I want people to see this side of me, my work ethic, put my personality into this," she said.

She said she has no dancing experience and "we're starting from scratch" but looked forward to the challenge.

"I am trying to coordinate myself and get some rhythm," she said. "This is going to just be an awesome experience."

Ballas, a two-time "Dancing With the Stars Champion," said the pair had rehearsed together for two days.

"She's doing very well," he said. "She's a little nervous ... we're going to pull out her dancing demon and get her going."
