'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: Jake T. Austin Gets the Boot
"I had a blast,” Austin told co-host Erin Andrews.
— -- In a two-hour episode of "Dancing with the Stars", former "Wizards of Waverly Place" actor Jake T. Austin was sent packing Tuesday night after performing just two dances this season. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte escaped elimination and gets to dance at least one more time.
“It was so much fun, I had a blast,” Austin told co-host Erin Andrews after he and his pro partner, Jenna Johnson, got the news. “Learning from Jenna was the opportunity of a lifetime. This was [an] incredible experience.”
Lochte and his dance partner, Cheryl Burke, also found themselves in jeopardy. Prior to hearing the results, Lochte told Andrews the other couples had been so supportive of him following last week’s incident in which two men rushed onto the dance floor, they'd become like family.
“Just the love and support that I got from everyone on this show and the fans and everything,” he explained, “it’s been amazing and I don’t want that to go.”
Added Lochte, “This is like a family now, and I don’t want to leave my family.”
The evening also included Charlie Puth and Daya performing his song “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” Daya returned later to sing “Hide Away,” and Gavin DeGraw performed “She Sets the City on Fire.”
"Dancing With the Stars" returns Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
