— -- Dermot Mulroney says he and Julia Roberts are still the best of buds, almost two decades after starring in "My Best Friend's Wedding."

"There was this automatic, palpable chemistry between the four of us," Mulroney told HuffPost Live of him, Roberts, Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett in the 1997 hit film. "Just as friends and as people, and just the right amount of uncertainty."

The movie starred Mulroney as Michael, a sports writer, marrying Diaz's character, while Roberts played Julianne Potter, Michael's best friend, who comes to terms with feelings she's had for him for years. She even tries to end the couple's wedding before it starts.

After the scene where Roberts finally kisses Mulroney towards the end of the film played in the HuffPost studio, Mulroney watched and said, "That day, that kiss was awesome!"

"Julia and I have remained the closest of friends, which really doesn't always happen," he said. "All actors like each other and you think, 'Oh, we'll stay in touch,' but it's like summer camp. You stay in touch with a few of them and not very many, but bless her heart, I love her, and we stayed that close."

Mulroney continued, "those real feelings were in that movie" and that's why it was so good.

"We really had an immediate connection, Julia and I. [We're] similar people -- both Scorpios, you know. Stuff like that," he added. "And that movie has just grown and evolved, recycled itself ... now the kids of the original people that were fans of it, love it, too."

Then he dropped a bomb, "I've never seen 'Pretty Woman.'"
