The Yankees captain spent the afternoon with his model girlfriend, Hannah Davis.
— -- On Monday night, Derek Jeter played his last game as a New York Yankee as he bid farewell to Major League Baseball.
The next day, the retired athlete laid low, leaving his Manhattan apartment around noon to make a coffee run with his girlfriend, model Hannah Davis.
"They walked to a Starbucks and they were very animated," an onlooker told ABC News. "There were guys fist bumping him on the street, thanking him, saying congratulations and showing their appreciation."

Jeter, 40, who is said to typically order a grande red eye with two sugars in the raw, greeted more well-wishers inside the coffee shop ("I congratulated him on a great career. He said thank you," one fan noted on Twitter) before heading back to his apartment with Davis. Jeter spent much of the afternoon at home.
"He was relaxed and animated," the observer noted, "but I imagine he must be exhausted!"
