Inside Sherri Shepherd's Divorce and Custody Drama
The former "View" host opened up about battling with her exes.
— -- A few months ago, news broke that Sherri Shepherd had split from her husband, Lamar Sally.
Now, she's opening up a bit about the divorce and the baby they welcomed via a surrogate. (Sally told People that the two are negotiating financial responsibility for the newborn, though Shepherd just said they were "in court.")
"We don’t talk but I’m on my knees praying a lot for him," she told Wendy Williams about her ex. "I have a lot of lawyers... and it’s very public and it’s very painful. For me, I’m not Tori [Spelling] and Dean [McDermott]: I'm not paid to talk about my life."

Sally has been a bit more open. In the People interview, he said that Shepherd has yet to meet the baby, whom he called "L.J." (Lamar Jr.). He said he's also asking Shepherd to put her name on the baby's birth certificate.
"I think it's the worst thing in the world for L.J. to look at his birth certificate at 16 and see it says, 'Mother unknown,'" he explained.
This is the second legal issue the former "View" host has faced this year: Shepherd also recently went to court with her first husband to fight to retain custody of their 9-year-old son, Jeffrey. (The judge sided with Shepherd.)
"Anybody who knows me knows that I live for my son," she gushed. "He is everything to me. That's my baby."
