Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard Are Not the Same Person
The actresses collaborated on a funny video to prove their point.
— -- Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain want you to know that they are not the same person.
But rather than get upset about, the two red-headed actresses, who are often mistaken for one another, decided to poke a little fun at their dilemma.
About two weeks ago, Chastain posted a snapshot of her and Howard on Instagram with the words, "People still think we are the same person?!?!" and "IKR [I Know, Right]!!"
And just to clarify, she wrote in the caption, "True story. #BryceDallasHoward is in #JurassicWorld"
That's when a fan of one or both actresses decided to take up the cause, posting a hilarious video Sunday on YouTube. Called "JESSICA CHASTAIN: The Musical (Bryce Dallas Howard)," it features clips from both actresses' films and an original song with the catchy refrain "I am not Jessica Chastain."
Piggybacking on the video, Chastain followed up with her own Dubsmash video that features the music from the YouTube parody.
In the quick clip, the redheaded actress can be seen lip-syncing, "But it's time to put an end to the confusion/I am not Jessica Chastain."
But when she removes her sunglasses, it's...Bryce Dallas Howard.
"Everyone get it yet? : ) performance by #BryceDallasHoward not #JessicaChastain," Chastain wrote on Instagram.
In case you're more confused than ever, Howard explained how the pair collaborated on the video.
"My friend emailed me about that [musical] video yesterday, and it had just posted two days ago. I was like, 'This is brilliant!' And he said, 'You should totally do a Dubsmash,' so we did it," she told reporters at the "Jurassic World" Los Angeles premiere.
Howard then sent the video to Chastain.
"[Jessica] was like, 'OK, this is totally a thing. We need to use this power for good, and do a movie together playing sisters,'" Howard said.
Just to clarify, Howard, 34, is the daughter of Ron Howard and star of "Lady in the Water" and "Spider-Man 3." Chastain, 38, is the star of "Zero Dark Thirty" and "A Most Violent Year." Both appeared in the 2011 film "The Help."
