— -- Joey Feek is savoring every moment with her 22-month-old daughter, Indiana.

Husband Rory Feek posted a photo of the terminally ill country singer, 40, reading to their little girl from her hospice bed.

"Loving watching them loving each other," he wrote on Facebook Tuesday.

Although Joey, who has been coping with terminal cervical cancer, was able to celebrate another Christmas with the family, her "heart was heavy," her husband, 49, said on his blog This Life I Live.

"The holidays have been a roller-coaster for my bride," Rory wrote in his first post of 2016. "She’s had some good days, some bad days -- some wonderful moments, and some deep pain that the morphine just couldn’t seem to touch. How could it...it wasn’t that kind of pain."

He explained that his wife was dealing with a roller coaster of emotions.

"Though she managed a smile most of the time, Joey’s heart was heavy and she was feeling some things she hadn’t before," Rory wrote. "A sadness. A fear of the unknown. And even some anger — not at God, just at her situation I suppose. It’s not easy for her to be as excited about what the new year holds in store as it was last year."

But Christian contemporary artist Bill Gaither, a friend and neighbor in their hometown Alexandria, Indiana, helped lift Joey's spirits when he lit a huge bonfire on the other side of their pond.

"From Joey’s bedroom window, we could see the beautiful flames dancing across the water. It was magical," Rory wrote. "Bill has sure shined his light on us."

Fans of the country duo known as Joey + Rory have been following the Feeks' journey on his blog and their Facebook page since May 2014, when Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer three months after giving birth to Indiana.

Joey stopped treatments in late-October after they were found to be ineffective.
