John Stamos and fiancee Caitlin McHugh are expecting their 1st child

— -- "Fuller House" star John Stamos is expanding his own household.

The 54-year-old star and his fiancee Caitlin McHugh confirmed to People magazine that they are expecting their first child together.

"I will be a fun dad," he told People. "I've been practicing for a long time."

Stamos and McHugh announced their engagement in October via Instagram.

"I asked...she said yes! ...And we lived happily ever after," the former "Full House" star posted.

After two years of dating, Stamos popped the question at Disneyland and used a sweet video of romantic moments from classic animated films during his proposal, his rep confirmed to ABC News.

The actor revealed to People that McHugh learned she was pregnant before he proposed.

"The [pregnancy] happened. Then I said, I better have a ring on her finger because it’s the right thing to do, and I wanted to marry her anyway," the actor said. "So I called her parents to ask, and it was like, ‘You better!’"

McHugh, 31, known for her roles in "The Vampire Diaries" and "Rescue Me," added that Stamos was thrilled when he learned she was pregnant.

"It was the look of a man who has wanted a family of his own but wasn’t sure it was going to happen for him," she said. "Now it is!"
