9 Things You Didn't Know About Kendall Jenner

— -- intro: While her sister Kim Kardashian is trying to “break the Internet” by posing nude on the cover of Paper magazine, Kendall Jenner is trying to make a name for herself as a model. In fact, just this morning, the 19-year-old was announced as the new face of Estee Lauder.

Jenner is part of a new generation of high-end models blessed with celebrity DNA. She joins the likes of Patrick Schwarzenegger, who recently posed for Tom Ford with Gigi Hadad, the daughter of a “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member.

But, Jenner said she’s not interested in playing a big role in her hard-to-ignore family, especially on the Kardashians' reality TV shows.

"Everybody knows I’m like a little more shy, especially when I was younger, I was super shy,” she told ABC's Juju Chang in an interview for "Nightline." "When I was a kid, I was so homesick at all times. I would go to a friend’s house and I would be 'alright, I’m gonna have a sleepover, Dad.' He would be like, 'great.' I would call him at like 9 p.m., 'Dad, come pick me up please.'"

Fighting off the naysayers, Jenner even dropped her last name from her modeling card.

"I’m not trying to use a family name of anything,” she said. “In reality I worked pretty hard for this... It wasn’t like I just got it magically and it just happened.”
