— -- "I stuck my foot in my mouth once again," a laughing Michelle Rodriguez said in a Facebook video on Saturday.

The "Fast & Furious" actress posted the video to clarify comments she had previously made about superheroes and minorities.

"I said people should stop trying to steal white people superheroes," she added in the video. "I guess it got taken out of context, because a lot of people got offended."

Rodriguez, 36, admitted she tends to speak without a filter and clarified what she really meant.

"There are many cultures in Hollywood that are not white and that can come up with their own mythology," she said. "I'm just saying that instead of trying to turn a girl character into a guy or instead of trying to turn a white character into a black character or Latin character, I think people should stop being lazy and people should make an effort in Hollywood to develop their own mythology."

She added, "It's not about taking Catwoman or Superman or Green Lantern, whatever these characters are and trying to make them fit to whatever cultural background you are."

Rodriguez just wants the writers in Hollywood, no matter their culture, to be more creative and come up with new ideas. She added she's also taking her comments to heart and trying to follow them and she writes and comes up with project ideas.

"It's time to stop trying to take what's already there and fit a culture into it," she said. "It's time for us to write our own mythology and our own story."
