Vin Diesel Opens Up about 'Awkward and Uncomfortable' Filming without Paul Walker

The seventh installment was originally scheduled for release this week. But Walker's death in a fiery car crash last Nov. 30 put a halt to production. With the help of visual effects and Walker's brothers Caleb and Cody, filmmakers were able to complete the film, which has a new release date of April 3, 2015.

Universal's "Fast & Furious" Facebook page also paid tribute to Walker while thanking fans for their support during the tumultuous production.

"Our family is big and strong but it won't ever quite be whole again without Paul," the post said. "All of us - those who've been here from the start and those whose first FAST film is 7 - wanted to create a special film for him and for you. We believe we have."
