Mike Epps 'Humbly Intimidated' Filling John Candy's Shoes in 'Uncle Buck' Sitcom

— -- "Uncle Buck" is back as a new ABC sitcom.

Actor Mike Epps is taking on the role as the fun-loving, irresponsible uncle who moves in with his brother and sister-in-law to babysit his nieces and nephew.

The comedy is based on the original, 1989 hit movie that starred John Candy as Uncle Buck.

"It's a homecoming for those who know what John Candy and 'Uncle Buck' is and it's an education for my kids," Epps said today on "Good Morning America." "There's a lot of kids that didn't get to see 'Uncle Buck,' so I'm humbly intimidated filling John's shoes. Much love to John."

"Uncle Buck" premieres next Tuesday, June 14th at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
