Miranda Lambert Reflects on Tough Year After Single Tops the Charts
The country star opened up about the struggles she's faced in this last year.
— -- It hasn’t been an easy year for country star Miranda Lambert, and she’s the first to admit it.
After her new single, "Vice," topped the iTunes chart last night, Lambert took a moment to reflect on the last 12 months with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, ... Of learning to be honest .... Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles,” Lambert, 32, wrote beside a photo of the iTunes chart.
“Finding peace in dark places ... having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings... All of them. I got to know my guitars...became friends with a pencil and paper ... Used melodies to lead me places I had never been.... Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey. #vice #musicismedicine”
After four years of marriage, Lambert split from husband Blake Shelton last July. She is now involved with singer Anderson East.
"We were together for 10 years, married for four, were very quickly divorced, and are friends," Lambert told Cosmopolitan in January. "I'm still processing everything and figuring out where to go and what happened."
Her hit song speaks to the sorrow and heartbreak she has experienced while navigating this new chapter.
