Miranda Lambert Returns to the Stage Following Divorce From Blake Shelton
The country star's split from Blake Shelton was announced days ago.
— -- Miranda Lambert returned to the stage Wednesday, her first public appearance since her divorce from Blake Shelton was announced.
The country starlet sang "Heart Like Mine" with her friend and co-writer on the song, Ashley Monroe at The Basement East in Nashville. The duet was the unplanned encore to Monroe's album release show for her new album, "The Blade."
Lambert, 31, wore little makeup and exclaimed that she was only wearing her Target dress.
The lyrics seemed to speak to Lambert's resilient spirit - especially the first line of the song: "I ain't the kind you take home to mama/I ain't the kind to wear no ring."
Lambert and Shelton were married in 2011 and celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this past May. Their divorce papers were processed Monday, hours after news of the couple's split emerged.
Monroe's album comes out Friday. Lambert will perform a full, sold-out acoustic show on July 28 in Nashville.
