Nicole Kidman Says 'I Hope I'm Pregnant' Every Month
Star talks about babies and jumping into her marriage with Keith Urban.
— -- Nicole Kidman still has babies on the brain.
The 47-year-old mother of four -- two with ex-husband Tom Cruise and daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret with current husband Keith Urban -- told Elle she still hopes for another child.
"I had my last one at 43," she told Elle for its January issue. "My grandmother had her last at 49. Every month, I’m like, 'I hope I’m pregnant!'
When her publicist interjected, "Off the record," Kidman said, "I don’t mind! Why not, right? I wish I was!"
Kidman also talked about marrying Urban less than a month after they started going out.
"I’m spontaneous. I jump in," the Oscar winner said. "I kind of like getting married and then getting to know each other; I know that it sounds incredibly strange, but to me, it’s a more natural process."
If that sounds a bit surprising coming from Kidman, it may be because it doesn't quite fit the public's perception of her as being reserved.
But friend Sheryl Crow told Elle that while the perception is not exactly incorrect, there's more to Kidman than that.
"I think that she has been very poised throughout her public life, and sometimes people will misconstrue that; they see her as being an ice queen," the singer said. "The kind of scrutiny she’s been subjected to can’t be comfortable, and she’s dealt with it by being very careful -- that’s what gives people the wrong idea. She’s not someone we’re going to see out paddle-boarding in a G-string; she doesn’t set up situations where she’s playing to the paparazzi. She’s more old-school than that. She’s not that kind of movie star."
