Noel Gallagher Reflects on US Tour, Says He Has 'No Plans' for Oasis Reunion

— -- Noel Gallagher recently completed a month-long U.S. tour in support of his latest album, "Chasing Yesterday."

It was an experience that the former Oasis guitarist/songwriter says exceeded his expectations.

“It’s my best-ever-ever American experience,” Gallagher told ABC News.

In the past, he's made multiple trips to the U.S. during a typical world tour. This time around, he traveled the country for what will be his only visit this year.

“[T]o do the whole thing in a run has been great. I've really f***ing enjoyed it and I can't thank the people who've come to see me enough,” Gallagher said.

The Britpop icon, who as a solo artist records and tours under the moniker Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, will play festivals in Europe and Asia over the next several weeks. He’ll take his act to Australia, South America and elsewhere in 2016.

A reunion of Oasis -- best known for 1990s hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” -- is not on his to-do list, despite speculation to the contrary. He firmly stated to ABC News that he has “no plans” to get the band back together.

While he said he’s not bothered by the persistent talk of a reunion, he admitted, “It does become a bit monotonous and a bit repetitive to keep, you know, reading stories of, ‘Noel Gallagher quashes Oasis rumors.’ It shouldn't be left to me to quash the rumors all the time, and these rumors spring out of nowhere.”

One report claimed Gallagher and his brother, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, had reached a “gentlemen’s agreement” to reform the group, but Gallagher asked, “What does that even f***ing mean?”

“And what’s more annoying is then Liam says, ‘No comment.’ ‘Cause then it builds people’s hopes up,” he added.

It was a fight between the brothers that led to the breakup of Oasis in 2009. Gallagher said he currently is not on speaking terms with his brother.

After his world tour ends, Gallagher will finish work on his next album, for which he said he’s already written “a lot of music.” Though he’s hesitant to reveal too many details about the project, he teased, “It’s been an absolute brand-new way of working for me. It’s something I’ve never done before."
