Omari Hardwick Reveals What It's Like to Work for 50 Cent
Season 3 of "Power" premieres on July 17th on STARZ.
— -- Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) and Omari Hardwick are gearing up to launch the third season of their hit drama, "Power."
50 Cent, the executive producer and co-creator of the show, stars as "Kanan" the former boss and mentor of James "Ghost" St. Patrick, played by Omari Hardwick.
"Curtis called me, I was in Atlanta, and he called me and he talked to me for about two hours about the show and about the character and how many colors the guy had," Hardwick said on 'GMA' today. "I signed on. So, he's trying to do right and I guess that's why people are empathetic. They're mad at Kanan, but they forgive Ghost. But, I don't think we'd have a show if he wasn't Ghost. There's a Ghost in everybody."
Ghost is a former drug dealer who now owns several successful nightclubs. But just as he begins to believe his past criminal persona of 'Ghost' may finally be behind him, he's forced to face the consequences of running from a life from which no one gets away clean.
"It was really well-written," 50 Cent said. "The suspense that they captured in the actual episode is what kept people on the edge of the seat in anticipating this season."
On what it's like having 50 Cent as a boss, Hardick joked: "All of the people are laughing at that question," he said. "It's amazing. Some days I want to beat him up and other days (Hardwick kisses 50 Cent on the cheek)."
He added: "He feels like the brother that I've added to my two brothers..."
