Sarah Jessica Parker Was Fired From Two Animated Films
Actress reveals to Howard Stern that she couldn't cut it as a cartoon character.
— -- Sarah Jessica Parker may be a big star but she couldn't cut it as an insect, or a farm animal for that matter.
The 51-year-old actress told Howard Stern on Tuesday that she was fired from not one but two animated films: 1998's "Antz" and 2004's "Home on the Range."
"The first time," Parker told Stern, "They were like, 'We’re going in a different direction,' which I had always heard, like, as a joke."
That is, until Parker saw that she was being replaced by Sharon Stone, who has a sultry old Hollywood voice.
"I was like, 'Oh, you really did go a different [direction],'" Parker said.
For both films, Parker had already recorded "many sessions" and was even told how "great" she was before she was let go.
Fortunately, Parker, who stars in the new series "Divorce," hasn't completely struck out on playing animals.
"I’ve had no success playing an animal," she said, "except I played a dog onstage."
