Will Wins Big Brother 2
September 21 -- The cameras are finally turned off at the Big Brother 2 household, as Miami physician Will emerged as the winner of the reality show Thursday night."I'm pretty surprised," he told host Julie Chen on the finale of the CBS series. As the last remaining houseguest, he won $500,000. "I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it," he said.Runner-up Nicole, a personal chef from Atlanta, won $50,000. "The real Nicole is not very close to what I have been in here," she told Chen, according to The Associated Press. The final episode aired an hour later than scheduled, to make way for President Bush's speech to Congress.
Outside World Disrupts Artificial "Reality"Despite the "reality" show's deliberate seclusion from the outside world, current events forced producers to break the "no news" rule to inform houseguest Monica that a cousin of hers, who was working at the World Trade Center, is missing.
"I'm doing all right," said Monica, a candy store manager from Brooklyn, N.Y., during Thursday's finale.
Also missing after the Sept. 11 attacks is the winner of the Fox reality show Murder in Small Town X. Firefighter Angel Juarbe Jr., was called to duty to fight the fires in the World Trade Center. Juarbe, 35, won $250,000 and a Jeep Liberty earlier this month after eluding a fictional serial killer and solving the murder mystery. The Bronx native has been a firefighter in the Chelsea district of New York City for seven years.
Big Brother 2 Filled With Sex, ViolenceThe second installment of CBS's reality show also proved more eventful than the first, widely panned edition, with sex, violence — and better ratings.
Contestant Justin Sebik was evicted after holding a knife to a female player's throat and asking, "Would you get mad if I just killed you?" He was later revealed to have had prior arrests, putting into question whether producers knew of his unsavory background and were counting on him to mix things up.
Two other contestants, Mike, a bar owner from Los Angeles, and Krista, a waitress from Opelousas, La., became engaged.
